It's funny to think about how old television was actually really bad. It's just that you were twelve at the time. And this was before the Internet and cell phones.

The sheer number of cheaply made cartoons. Or deliberately stupid game shows. Or moronic soap operas. Or insane informercials.

Television was always kind of bad.

Television isn't all that bad! If it weren't for television we wouldn't have sports channels game shows, and TV Shows like Baywatch, Beastmaster, Power Rangers, Full House, Family Matters Step by Step, Disney Channel, The Simpsons, King of the Hill, Futurama, Bob's Burgers, Beavis and Butthead, and many childhood TV shows I grew up with.

But there is so much television that is so bad. It's just before YouTube it was the only game in town. Like all those bad eighties and nineties cartoons that were more or less literal toy commercials.
