Midler is the user of the shapeshifting Stand [[High Priestess (stand)|]], which has hard teeth which it can use to crush things easily. Initially, the wielder of the Stand was unknown, High Priestess being soundly defeated by Jotaro in [[stardust_crusaders]], leaving only an unconscious body for the Crusaders to find afterward. Her current design and name (a nod to singer Bette Midler) first appeared in the CPS-3 game of the series produced by CAPCOM. Upon being asked, Hirohiko Araki created her character to complement the game's roster at that time. She has enjoyed a degree of popularity since her introduction.
