A bird's-eye view is an elevated view of an object from above, with a perspective as though the observer were a bird.
The opposite is a worm's-eye_view.

* high-angle_view - When the viewpoint of the image is coming from a little higher than where the subject is, like you're standing taller than them.
** bird's-eye_view - When the viewpoint of the image is directly overhead of the subject, almost like you were flying over them.
* low-angle_view - Where the viewpoint is coming from a little lower than the subject, like you're looking slightly up at them.
* worm's-eye_view - Where the viewpoint is coming from directly underneath the subject, like you're standing straight underneath them or very close to that.
