I was curious why are the japanese artist names different from their profile names on pixiv and if so then why arent there profile names being added to the artist list than the artist names used on this site is and if also how do people get these japanese names listed on some of the pics than their profile names on pixiv if anyone knows the answer i would greatly appreciate their help and also if anyone knows how to check the id numbers of the artists or a translator to translate the names or the page would be good to

Haven't been on pixiv in a while (and honestly, never poked around that much while I was there), but it's probably set up the way other sites/services have it.

I.E. Separate usernames and display names (in some cases the username isn't even displayed). If all pixiv uses for 'usernames' is the ID ## then it seems logical that this is the case.

For example; this dude's display name is どやっこ(元加藤チャイ) but his ID is just 1965916. As for their IDs, a search for their display name would probably bring up one of their works or a link to their page. The URL format goes www.pixiv.com/users/[7-Digit ID ## Here].

EDIT: Probably worth notin' that I actually brought up pixiv half-way through to verify my facts/get a more immediate (and accurate) idea of how the site works; hence why I suddenly turned into an 'expert' on the site half-way into the post lol

Okay thanks for the help hatchetfox and for anyone who else who also have another way to check the japanese pixiv user names into english names please reply on this forum also if the admins or moderators know information that will help make it easier to check there english names that will be good to.
