Artist Tagging
When you tag a artist on a picture do you need to put "(artist)" with it, what is the purpose in doing so when the artist name is red anyway?

It's more or less tradition...It's always been done like this. I don't really see an issue with it and since all of the artist tags (or most at least) are already using the format *artistname*_(artist) then I see no reason to change it.

It just seams to me like it takes up more time that could be used to tag pictures better. I try to tag pictures as best as possible and it gets slightly frustrating to be tagging and when I have to tag an artist I have to hold down shift a few more times than needed (its not very serious its just I like as little interruption as possible when I'm tagging) and since you can make tags, Copyright, General, Artist and Character, and since all of these are different colors it seams kinda unneeded to put, (artist), after the name.

Again, it's more or less tradition...people are used to it. I'd like to go by the principal of "don't fix it if it's not broken".

I am sorry that it's an inconvenience to you and appreciate the detail you put into tagging but at this point of time there is no reason to change it as the majority of users will get confused.

Xbooru is actually one of the few boorus that still uses the *artistname*_(artist) template... All other websites we host use the red color as an indication.

If it really inconveniences you that much then just tag it the way you feel is correct. If you want you can even submit aliases for all of the artist tags if you want. Hunting down every single artist tag and changing it manually is something I do not have the time for at the moment.
