Easy Tagging of saved pictures?
I have (like most of you, I guess) an own porncollection. For a while, it was enough to make different folders for diffrent kind of porn, but there are many pics and vids, which could be categorized in diffrent groups. So I started tagging them, but there are simply too many, to tag them in the classic way.

So, to my question: Do you know any fast, good tagprogram, where you can create a taglist with sub-categorys (e.g. one aglist for sex positions, one for charachters ans so on)?
It can be either for Windows or for Linux (Ubuntu)

If you know one, please answer. It doesn't only help me, but many others, too.

a few words about tagging
There's two main types of tagging: one is to write the tags into the file and the other is to use a database.

"hard-tagging"
Writing tags into the file is useful if the file gets around alot; is moved, copied, shared and so on. The tags will be IN the file. They can be edited with a hex editor, too.

"soft-tagging"
Using a database has the advantage of being safer and faster, because the original files remain untouched, but the tags will be available only in the tagging application, unless your system uses a global database for tagging files (like KDE4) which are then available to other apps on your computer. The file will stay clean.

Shotwell can do both; write tags to the files or use a database, but doesn't work with animated GIF's. It has an "events" feature, that sorts and groups files by date.
Good for slower machines running Ubuntu.
Just remember that importing the photos can take a while.

F-Spot can do both, but doesn't perform well on my end, and doesn't play animations, either. Next!

Gwenview is a KDE app, so it can use the global KDE database. (Nepomuk or Akonadi, I don't know which does what now.)
It can write EXIF, IPTC and XMP metadata when the Kipi plugins pack is installed. It's not too straight-forward or comfortable for tagging lots of pictures. But in KDE you use the file manager for that.
PLAYS GIF animations, but canNOT tag them.

And finally, digiKam, another KDE app. Can do both, can edit metadata, titles, albums, (sub-)categories, fuzzy search... it's like Shotwell plus Gwenview (can use Nepomuk, Kipi plugins, etc.) - on steroids and penis enlargements!
It does NOT play animations, but can add soft tags. (Tags that can't be written to a file are stored in the database.) Talk about irony.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try them out.
