on a post under options what is the difference between delete and flag for deletion

Delete is for the user whenever he/she wants to delete his/her post. Flag for deletion is for everyone, like reporting a post. The admins then get a notice and choose to take the post down or not. They don't be on everyday so you have to give them some time.
